Bumbershoot 

  Seattle ’s biggest and best music festival.

When:  – Sunday, August 31 , from 1:00 PM – until 10:45 PM  

Cost:  Single day ticket price is $35.00 and can be purchased at any Starbucks beginning August 2, 2008 with out service charge.  Students must have their ticket purchased in advance.  We will not be able to assist them with purchasing a ticket the day of the event.  The lines are long and it often takes an hour to purchase a ticket.   

Food:  Students will be responsible for the cost of all their food and drinks – AFS will NOT be supplying any food or drinks.  

Where do we meet:  Students are to be dropped off at 1:00 PM at the corner of 3^rd Ave. NE and Roy Street – one block north of the Seattle Center Mercer Street entrance.   

When and where do you pick up our student after the event?:  Student pick-up will be at the same location (3^rd Ave. NE and Roy Street ) at 11:00 PM.  If 11:00 PM is not convenient for you, please make individual pickup arraignments for your student and be sure to let me know when and where you will pick him/her up.   

Students from Tacoma or Bellingham :  I will attempt to make overnight arraignments for students traveling from the Tacoma or Bellingham area.  Parents might want to consider having them take the train to and from the event.  We will try to help with transportation to and from the train station.   

AFS students and volunteers will enter Bumbershoot as a group at 1:15 PM and set up a “camp” near the International Fountain.   AFS Volunteers will be available during the day to assist students at the “camp”.
